  3. Hi everyone! I'm Karen Salerni and I'm working on my M.Ed. in TESOL. I actually took EDUC 513 with Dr. Inoue last semester, and it was so much fun that I'm back for more!

I'm originally from Saratoga Springs, N.Y., but I haven't lived there for awhile. I studied journalism at the University of Maryland and then spent a few years working for a medical trade magazine based in Washington, D.C. I discovered my love for TESOL when, on a whim, I began volunteering as an ESL teacher at a school for adult immigrants. I decided to make a career change and head back to school, so here I am!

Outside of the classroom, I really enjoy spending time at the beach, hiking, and traveling. I'm excited to meet everyone, and I'm really, really excited to travel to Japan for the first time!

This is my 2nd semester at USD and I'm loving grad school so far. This will be my 6th year as an elementary school teacher (grades 1st-4th) and I live in Encinitas. I'm originally from San Luis Obispo and went to school at Cal Poly SLO for Liberal Studies and my multiple subject credential as well. I'll see you all in person soon!

  5. Hi Everyone! My name is Lexi Campbell I'm working on my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. I have also already taken EDUC 513 with Dr. Inoue last semester with Karen :).

I am originally from Colorado, however I have not lived there in many years. My husband is in the Navy, so we travel a lot. We have been here in San Diego for almost a year now. We are loving the weather!

When I am not spending time in class I am busy with my two year old daughter. I love going to the beach, reading a good book, and spending time with friends and family.

  8. My name is Kristy Williams, it’s actually Kristy Morgan now but I haven’t changed it with the University. I got married a year and half ago and my husband and I moved to San Diego in March 2012. We absolutely love it here and I am NEVER moving back to Arizona. I love dogs, wine, friends, being outside, and spending time with my husband (Tim). I’ve wanted to be a teacher for 10 years and my dream is coming true. I absolutely can’t wait to be a teacher.
